Field Mapping and Stratigraphy
Our group highlights and emphasizes the need to perform traditional geologic mapping and stratigraphic characterizations. Our research group provides scientific assistance and performs extensive fieldwork on research projects related to sedimentary basin analysis at both industrial and academic level. Field mapping and stratigraphic analyses are constantly contracted by the oil and gas industry. We also specialyze on well logging and core description.
Some of our clients are Ecopetrol, Petrobras, Repsol, Pacific Rubiales, Gran Tierra, Smithsonian Tropical Reseaech Institute, Universidad de Caldas, Geocuencas, among others.

Vitrinite reflectance
Our group has acquired a CRAIC Vitrinite reflectance detector which has been attached to a Axio-Imager. This US$170k investment is for academic and industrial uses. We provide database management of Ro data

Paragenetic and diagenetic analyses
Our group counts with highly qualified scientits whose primary reserarch interests focus on sedimentary petrography. Their main research focuss on paragenetic/diagenetic charac-terization of carbonate and siliciclastic rocks.
Our group specializes on performing paragenetic/diagenetic characterization and diagenetic stratigraphic analyses using of mutitechniques; i.e. field work, petrography, isotope and elemental geochemistry, SEM-EDX, Cathodoluminescence.

Isotope and elemental Geochemistry
Our group also specializes on isotope and elemental geochemistry. We are focused on the use of stable and radiogenic isotope (C, O and Sr) stratigraphy and multi-elemental chemostrati-graphy for basin analysis purposes and identification of non conventional hydrocarbons.
Our work also focuses on using non-traditional stable isotope geochemistry (Mo, U, Ca) in marine sediments to solve purely scientific questions related to the response of the global biogeochemical cycles to global environmental and climatic changes
